I’m leaving this morning. It’ll be an epic travel day! I’ll get to Brazil tomorrow morning, and immediately get on a bus for an 8 hour bus ride, and the race starts the next day. I’m hoping I’ll sleep a little on the plane.
I felt confident before my crash 2 weeks ago. Now I’m not really sure what to expect. Honestly, I just feel lucky to be able to ride my bike. 4 days ago, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to physically be able to start the race, so starting is already a win. I’m still healing, but every day is better!! It’s been a great season and I’m excited to wrap it up at the Brasil Ride!
Where to follow the race?
Mountain Flyer for daily reports
I’ll be updating my social media feeds when I can and possibly writing a blog or two.
Looking forward to telling you all about it!! Here are the posts I did from last year’s event if you want to check it out: November 2010 archive
Thank you. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the last mountain bike race of the year.
Of course, thank you to my sponsors who have been by my side all year long.
There was some extra prep that went into this race with my bike that was raced hard this year and needed some love, and after my injury to get me back on track.
Special thanks to:
SRAM for the new chain rings. It rides like a brand new bike!
Magura for sending the sexy set of MT8s. I can’t wait to make them work in the stage race!
Jeff Kerkove for getting the bike all dialed.
Continental for the fresh X-King 2.4s.
DT Swiss for putting new bearings in my rear hub of my carbon race wheels.
Mike Luebesmier (Luby) at Dirt Labs for fixing my front fork and getting everything buttery
Jason Hilimire at FasCat Coaching– my coach for getting me ready.
Dr. Jason Glowney – for helping me get back on track, dry needling, taking special care
Pat Larabee– chiropractor and recent track worlds competitor
Kari Williams – chiropractor
Tami Dick – PT at BCSM
Theo Horesh – massage
Off season(albeit short) starts Nov. 1!!!
