Attitude is a choice. You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can choose how you react to it. Happiness is a choice. You can choose to look at the things you’re doing right, what you DO have, at your opportunities and accomplishments, to love yourself and others for who you are as opposed to who you’re not, and to believe in yourself. You can choose to find joy in little moments, to not take yourself too seriously, to appreciate the people in your life and the time you DO have with them. Or you can focus on the negative; wishing you were better, faster, had more money, had more time, etc. You can still recognize where you want to go in life without being negative. The difference is feeling empowered to take action. It takes hard work and intention to turn wishes and dreams into reality and mental flexibility to realize that sometimes the reality you strived for doesn’t always go exactly to plan.
So today, make your choice. We have to make this choice hundreds of times during the day. For me? Being honest with myself, appreciating people, working hard and enjoying the journey, trying not to take things personally, doing my best, living up to my own expectations(as opposed to someone else’s expectations of me), being outside, not being too hard on myself, and choosing to do things that challenge me all make me happy. All these things help me maintain a positive attitude through both the good times and the trying times and make my life worth living
