Well, I got to enjoy epic riding all weekend, and an epic drive all day on Monday. Jeff (the superstar) and I didn’t think we were going to make it too far past Cedar City. Fortunately, luck was on our side and the roads seemed to get better the further we went.
Back on the road after some coffee.
Roads getting progressively better….
The first 60 miles and the last 60 miles seemed to be the worst of it with snowy, slick, sketchy roads.
Some drivers weren’t as cautious as others….
This song would be appropriate:
Driving over Vail Pass… welcome back to CO and the snow… it was actually warmer up at 10,000-11,000 ft than down in town where it was below zero.
The rest of the time, things were dry and peachy. I think the hardest part of the 12 hour drive was that Jeff and I were ravenous and there was a lack of food to satisfy our cravings in the car.
I am definitely tired from the efforts of Camp Lynda, but feeling good and happy. I was singing that awful 80s song – “Back to Life, Back to Reality” as we drove through snowy Golden, CO. And back to reality it is… I had a pile of work waiting for me this morning to get through. It’s all good!
Now it’s time to recover and reap the benefits of all the Utah miles. Rick the man has me busting out some intensity this weekend. I’m looking forward to it!! I just hope all this stupid snow melts!
Glad you made it back!
