Bike fit: Hardtail vs. Full Suspension

By May 24, 2011March 22nd, 2017No Comments

Right before Syllamo’s Revenge, I went to Wheatridge Cyclery for my second fit!

It definitely put my mind at ease to have Adam getting me set up properly on my bike, and to know that it was the same fit I had on my hardtail! There are a few things that are a little different when it comes to FS bikes because of the rear suspension and the sag. Sag is how far the shock sinks down when you sit on the bike, and it effects your seat height. Sag has to do with your weight (collectively between our body and what you are carrying) and air pressure. From there, you can adjust and play with the rebound(how fast the shock bounces back when compressed) on the trail to get it how you like it.

Another thing is that geometry is often different on hard tail vs. full suspension.
