It is official.
Rejection’s a bitch. haha My access was denied.
Where one door closes, another opens and I found a really great door on 303 Cycling. Leadville was Aug 15th, so by not racing, I can race the Breck 100 and Laramie Enduro. What does this mean? With my original plans, adding these 2 races would have me doing every race in the Rocky Mountain Ultra Endurance Series except for one in April.
The schedule:
Dawn ‘til Dusk Gallup, NM
Front Range 50 Lakewood, CO
Growler Gunnison, CO
Breckenridge 100 Breckenridge, CO
Laramie Enduro August 1st
I’ll be at another race on April 12 for the 12 hour race(Gallup) – too bad b/c I’d love to do this race in my home state.
Maybe I can’t cross the Leadville finish line, but perhaps I can finish on top of the Rocky Mountain Ultra Endurance Series.
Just an idea. When I have confirmed this, I will be updating my race schedule page. Stay tuned.
My lights are CHARGED. Tomorrow AM is when we depart for Tucson.
Here is a GPS file of the course:
Big thanks to Mark Harrison from Bicycling Magazine.
PUT IT IN THE BIG RING!!!!
Talked to my bookie today and I got big money saying you win some races this year!
They posted the Leadville entrant list today and I didn’t see your name on it. Big bummer!
Better luck next time!! I bet they just didn’t want me beating up on Dave Wiens. 🙂 j/k hahahaha
Too Bad. Looks like you’ve got a pretty killer backup plan.
I did dusk til dawn last year, very fun. I’m too lazy to see if this is your first time racing there or not. If not, I think you will really like it. 90% fun singletrack and lots of climbing, some technical sections. I also did the Front Range 50. Fast, not technical, but if it’s hot the race will get long. Kelley Cullen had the fastest women’s time and almost beat me. And I have a feeling you don’t get rejected much. lol. 🙂
Sorry you did not get into Leadville 100. I haven’t either for the last two years. Your back up plan sounds great!
Sucks about leadville. I hope to get in that one of these years. I’m going to race Laramie too. From what I’ve heard it’s a great race and well supported.
