Last weekend, I was in Chicago for the first time.
I had always wanted to visit that city. Everyone seems to love it there, and all my friends love to go there for a weekend so I was glad I got to partake!
I went for work for the New Belgium Urban Assault and to do bike shop visits. I worked the event with my friend and funny stand-up comedian, Todd Munson. We decided to be real city people and instead of getting a rental car, we used the great public transportation system for 4 days. The trains were so amazing – I wish we had that kind of bus and transit system in Denver. It’s a work in progress… but not like Chicago!
I also got to check out one of my favorite coffee roasters – Intelligentsia. I admit to going twice a day sometimes!
Their special roast… he don’t give a SHIT!! hahaha
Went to a White Sox vs. Dodgers game. Cubs weren’t playing at home.
Quite a contrast to the pics I normally post!
What you get if you forget your toothpaste.
Couldn’t resist the famous cupcakes!
I almost got the feeling of what it’d be like to be a big city person!! I’d miss my trails too much. I even got to walk to yoga a couple times because there was a CorePower .5 miles from my hotel!
Another highlight is visiting SRAM World HQ!!!! That was awesome. I got to meet up with Morgan, the mountain bike PR manager.
This is where our XX cassettes come from.
I got back Monday afternoon and have been playing catch up ever since and trying to get everything ready for TSE. I’m so behind!
My legs are feeling icky from the many many miles of walking and travel. Hoping to come around soon! Off to PA on Saturday for the Transylvania Epic. 7 days. 7 stages. Day 1 is Sunday!
Thinking positive.
