The Caribbean cruise was an excellent vacation – nothing like spending time by the beach and the beautiful color of the ocean in that region. But… all good things must come to an end. Fortunately, there are lots of new good things coming up!
Here is a quick photo blog with cruise highlights:
Labadee, Haiti
We took a tender from the ship to the beach, and hung out for about 4 hours. It was crazy windy and it rained. This was my least favorite beach.
It rained on us that day. I love islands with mountains…. I love Hawaii for that reason!
Montego Bay, Jamaica
I have been to Ocho Rios, but never Montego Bay. It’s nice and the drinks were cheapest here. We avoided the market because the people are so pushy. I feel so bad that they are so poor and here we are, on an extravagant vacation.
This dude was actually selling beer in the road.
Georgetown, Grand Cayman
This was my favorite stop. I’d love to just stay in a hotel on the beach for a few days there. The sand was like sugar and the water was the best.
Scott (Sierra’s husband) and I enjoying an ice cold Grand Cayman brew
Yeah! Bucket o beer and the beach.
We’d get nice and warm, then go into the water. Ahhhh…. I love to swim in the ocean.
Uhhh… Uhhh…. Uhhh… sold only in the Cayman Islands.
Cozumel, Mexico
You must go here if you are ever in Cozumel. It’s a…. experience.
Here is why….. Take a shot, get groped. They were grabbing chicks’ boobs too. No, I did not do it…
Taking a boat to Passion Island.
This is the actual beach in Corona commercials.
I got in workouts on the spin bikes at the gym on the ship, running on beach and treadmill, swimming in the ocean, and climbing many a flight of stairs on the cruise ship. 15 floors, and I rarely took the elevator. That is a lot of stairs over a week. I actually got in some good, short efforts!
Random ship photos:
The fam (missing my aunt though… someone had to shoot the pic)
Me and my cuz-sis (cousin who is more like a sister), Sierra.
The biggest cruise ship in the world – Liberty of the Seas.
Random ship art…. it looked vaguely familiar for some reason. Oh! That’s why!
It snowed 16 inches in Boulder just 2 days before I got back, so yesterday I came home to huge piles of snow…
Now, it’s back to work! I got in a ride towards Gold Hill today. I could definitely feel the altitude and I was dehydrated from my loooong travel day yesterday. I leave for the Ouachita 60 race on Thursday. Between now and then, it’s catch up at work. I finally bent over and gave USA Cycling 150 bucks to renew my cycling license. Yaaaay.
Got some green grips for my bikey. yaaaay. now I need to green GR2s fo the race this weekend. Must… have….bar ends…
wellcome back. you that is, not the snow……
If only they would sell beer in the streets everywhere…the world would be a better place….well…as long as no one was driving. 🙂
Oh man, I love the beach. Awesome pics. Looks like you had a great time.
Looks like you Looney’s know how to have a good time.
The water is so nice there!
ah man, carlos n charlies is the best! Marcy and I went there one afternoon while in cozumel on our honeymoon. It was something like 2 in the afternoon and the place was hopping. Dancing on tables ensued. Good times.
