Dig your heels in.

It was pretty dang windy in the Republic of Boulder today. We are talking the kind where you get shoved to one side of the road. Since I felt good yesterday, I decided to go with it, and did some intervals a hair above threshold up Lee Hill Rd, back on Old Stage, then back up Lee Hill for about 5 minutes until I made myself go home so I didn’t overdo it.

Numbers were looking good, and because I was climbing, there was actually something interesting to look at for the power file. If you want to geek out, here you go.

Whole file.

Those were the most interesting anyway. I had a lot of fun, and was laughing maniacally.

After that, I went to say bye to Rick da man. It just so happened he was at the new Boulder Velodrome. I have been wanting to check that place out. It’s pretty neat… I have never ridden on a track before (and did not try it today) It’s not quite my flavor, but I can totally see how it rocks peoples’ world, and it’s a GREAT step forward for advancing cycling in this area.

You spin me right round baby, right round….

This part looked fun. There were 5 year old kids bravely traversing this part of the area. Crashing, then giggling. Something to remember…

Now it’s off to the BMA Banquet. I am patiently awaiting to hear back if I got into the Leadville 100. Just a few more days….
