Down and Out

Well, not that I am surprised in any way, but the sinus infection I started coming down with the day before the Breck 100 has taken a turn for the worse! I don’t regret racing. I knew this would happen. Call me stubborn, call me something else, but I needed to do my race on Saturday.

I have flushed about 1/2 gallon of water through my face in the last 2 days using Neilmed. I’ve been a fan of this for a long time, but it feels kind of weird to shoot water up your nose!

I think tomorrow will be a better day. I’ve been basically laying in bed for the last 2 days. I forced myself to go to work on Monday which may or may not have been a good thing. At least I’m getting caught up on a few movies I haven’t seen. Today was day 6 of being sick, and I try to avoid anti-biotics, but I had to succumb to it. Day 1 of prescription meds was today. Hopefully I’ll at least be on my feet again tomorrow!

I’m going to Albuquerque on Friday-Sunday to visit my family and hopefully will be back on the bike Monday. It’s been a long time since I didn’t touch a bike for 7 days… One week from Saturday is the next race – the Laramie Enduro. 70 mile mtb race. woohoo… come on health!

Yeah! That stuff is $$, and I started taking it Friday when I was feeling bad with no save. I think it helps with viral things, but with bacterial infections, you’re just effed! 🙂

  • Might want to look into a Neti Pot if you have any sort of regular sinus issues (google it if you r don’t know what it is). I haven’t used one, but know a few with seasonal allergies that swear by the things. Also they claim that once you get used to one it is actually a lot easier that pressurizing fluid up your nose.
