I am peaking my head out of the water to finally do a blog post this week. I’m definitely staying pretty busy with training, school, work, and of course, doing other fun things! I also got in my last day of skiing for the year at Loveland. I actually felt a little sad buckling up my ski boots and putting them away.
I was able to get out on our local trails this week, which have been dormant all winter. It makes you appreciate it that much more!
This week, I’ve been trying to focus on Sea Otter prep. The race is this weekend, so becoming one with MCR and trying to squeeze in a couple last minute intervals has been tricky. Sea Otter always comes at a tough time because you’re starting to get more fit, but you’re not quite race fit. It’s like going into battle without armor and hoping for the best. The event is more fun than the race because it’s tent city, full of people I like to see! It’s also a great place for us to connect with our sponsors.
This weekend, I got out with some friends on the mountain bike. Caitlyn (Tuel) and I rode on Saturday for the first time at Heil/Picture Rock. The trails are finally pretty dry and ready for spring riding!
I went to TWO concerts, pretty spontaneously this week. That’s unlike me… usually I find the concert and plan for it for at least a month in advance! But…. I saw Taylor Swift (hey, I like her…) and sat in true pimp style… gotta get the altitude training in, right? 🙂
…and I also got to see this cool electronic band I had never heard of, Eoto.
Keeping it real!
I have 2 tests to tackle this week before I head out on Wednesday to CA. It’ll be a 1.5 week + road trip. We’ll be heading to the Whiskey 50 the following weekend. I am really excited for that race! Epic Rides does such a great job with races.
