Green Mountain, not so green today.

By December 14, 2008March 22nd, 20177 Comments

It was more of a snow white actually. The high ended up being 8F today.

I woke up to 1F this morning, and it had warmed up to a balmy 2F when Snowkove and I headed out to go hike.

I was not about to hop on the bike and turn into an ice sculpture, so we headed to the Chautauqua Park area to hike.

Flat Irons
The Flat Irons were wearing their winter coat…

Jeff was wearing his smile and hiking gear….

The mountains were cold and quiet.

After about 3000′ of climbing and 2 hours, we made it up to the top of Green Mountain at 8,144′. It was so cold that the condensation from my breath was frozen on the ends of my hair!  You couldn’t even see the 13 and 14,000′ peaks.

It was nice to do a little cross training and to enjoy the snow for once.

Other than that, I have been Betty frickin Crocker this weekend and made 2 loaves of bread with my bread machine, peanut butter bars, and chocolate chip cookie bars.  Don’t be surprised if I start sounding like this.

Next week, I am turning the volume down and spending some time recovering.

The mountains look great! I gotta say I am not favoring the new look of the site. It’s too much Ergon. I know you are sponsored by them and Jeff works for them but it takes away from this being “your” site. It now looks like its a sponsored Ergon website and I think it takes away from why people come here, to read about you. If I didnt know you and came to your page now I would probably pass it over thinking its just another company site. I say bring a pic of you back for the banner, keep the logo stuff on top of it and take the green out of the side banner and put that maybe a grey or something just subtle from black. Just my two cents 🙂 Stay warm!

Hmmm. I will see what I can do. this needs to be team colors and follow the team image, but don’t worry! The header won’t be the Ergon van forever. I will change it to a more personal picture, and after we have a team photoshoot, I will have a pic of me again, on my Rottie and sweet new kit!

Beautiful! Looks like an excellent place to break out the cross country skiis or snowshoes too. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

although Jordan has a point…. don’t lose any of the inherent sonyaness that we all love 🙂 even if it is a little more green than it once was.

Way too much green! Don’t go corporate on us.

That header was just a place holder until I got an actual team photo in February. I’ll change it to something else sooner than later. 🙂 I feel ya. The last thing I want to be is all corporate. Next thing I know, you’ll be calling me Wal-Mart Looney. 😉 j/k!!
