June showers bring tacky singletrack

Tacky in a good way, like I can RAIL around a corner. ๐Ÿ™‚ I got back on the horsey today and was happy to feel much better. The last time I rode, my avg HR was about 133 and I was miserable and hurting the whole time. This ride, I was back to my normal self averaging about 153 for my taking it easy pace and it felt easy too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe I’ll have something to show this weekend, or at least start to have something! I’m becoming a pro at riding no handed and taking photos at the same time, so hopefully the quality will go up too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Makes me much happier.

Today was a road bike day. I dusted off my Sweet Sexy SuperSix and was very happy to show it some love.

Then this little bit of drama rolled in. There was also a tornado warning somewhere. I managed to get away with only getting sprinkled on, but this NM moisture deprived NM girl gets really freaked out when claps of thunder start screaming in the sky. It made it hard to keep going slow and easy on my ride, so I just turned up my ipod so I didn’t freak out. Safe, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

After my ride, I headed to a work going away party for some people. A torrential down pour started right as I got home, so I lucked out. this is my sweet car in the flooded parking lot. I think there were some trout swimming in there somewhere.

With all the rain and run-off, Boulder Creek is starting to fill up.ย  Maybe I’ll try some extreme tubing again this year. I didn’t get quite beat up enough last time. ๐Ÿ˜‰
