Saturday morning, Jeff, Yuki, and I got in the car early in the morning and headed towards Salida, CO to ride one of the best trails in Colorado – the Monarch Crest Trail.
The 3 hour out and back ride we did was amazing and fun! Here are some pics and videos from the day!
I love my Rotwild bikes!
Here is a sweet video Jeff made.

If I see you, I might take your picture… and Yuki might take a picture of me taking your picture 🙂
Hey! There’s that guy that keeps taking videos!
I got some new Swiftwick socks. They are sooo awesome!! There are some soft spots on the foot part. The socks I wore Saturday were compression socks.
I usually use compressions socks for recovery and have heard of people using them during rides and runs, so I gave it a go. It could have been a number of things, but I felt like they were making my calves cramp when I was riding. Not for me!
Me and Yuki!!!
Not where’d you want to be in a thunderstorm.
My peeps! Jeff, Yuki, and moi.
Yeah! Continental Divide Trail.
It has been awhile (like years) since I forgot to unclip, fell over, and got stuck. Well, the streak is over, and at least I had someone there to point and laugh at me.
Mmmm… FRS.
I am trying to get into my off-season running regiment early, so I started that today (Sunday).
And a few more weekend pics…
A few more days of taking it easy, and then I have a 100 mile race on the back side of the Tetons on deck from Saturday. Yipee!
Some great pics and Jeff did a great job on the video. I hate that you fell over, clipped in, but it sure makes me feel better.
Ahh, the old clipped in slow motion fall.
Keeps us humble. 😉
Good luck in your upcoming races!
Looks awesome. I really need to do some riding in CO someday!
Great riding out that way for sure. Got to love the high country right now!
Hey I was just there a few days before you! The CT comes right up that Fooses drainage where you took the group shot. Sweet riding up there, eh? The crest trail is the easiest swoopy fun for 100 miles in either direction!
Vapor trail eh? Cool. Pack an extra lung or 3.
Looks like so much fun. That was one trail I definitely want to ride the next time I come out!!!
