South Mineral camping: Highland Mary Lake Hike

By July 4, 2013March 22nd, 2017No Comments

I was really glad I could make it to the camping trip this year. Last year, I couldn’t make it because I was doing the Trans Germany followed by the BC Bike Race 2 weeks later.

It’s my favorite place to camp, tucked 6 miles off US550 with no cell phone services. We hung out around camp, did some BBQing, and sitting in lawn chairs in the sun.

We all went for a long hike.  I was practically foaming at the mouth for the singletrack I kept seeing, but spending the day on foot was good too.  It’s nice to slow down sometimes because you can see a lot more.  You also appreciate being able to coast downhill too!  I think this hike ended up being around 6 miles with all of our running around when we got to the top.

We earned our beer that night!  I was testing out a new tent.  I actually prefer a tent!
