The Lumberyard

I had my first On Dirt clinic at The Lumberyard in Portland about 2 weeks ago. Thanks to everyone who showed up. It was really cool to meet all kinds of people including a group of juniors who are all one family and race around Oregon.

After that, I rented a dirt jumper and played around in the bike park. I had never ridden anything like it, nor had I ever ridden a dirt jumper. I learned how to flow and pump on the green course, and then rolled the blue line. I was happy to simply get out there…and then I saw what it looks like if you’re a bike park geni – dudes catching air and ripping it up!

If I got a few more hours in there, I bet I’d try jumping. Someday!

These kids were absolutely tearing it up out there and made most adults looks like pansies!

This is The Lumberyard, and I highly recommend stopping in if you’re ever in Portland.

Bikes…AND a great beer selection!

    Awesome!!!
I wanna go! Got myself a dirt jumper this fall and it’s awesome. You’ll get the jumping part-like you said it’s only a matter of hours on the bike and practice! Good luck! 🙂

Sonya, awesome clinic, thanks so much for visiting. You are an awesome ambassador for women, biking and your lucky sponsors. Hope to see you soon!

OMG, this place is off the hook. Took my seven yr old a few weeks ago and now we’re both hooked. Cool to see bikings not just a commuter or jock thing
