Day 8 into the race was a designated rest day, mostly for acclimation purposes. I was thankful for it and also hoped that the day off would help Jeff round the corner with his illness.
Today, we took a hike that was about 1500′ up. It was amazing to be at the base of Annapurna III and IV , both sit at over 21,100′!
We went to a monastery in Manang. It was really beauitful:
Buildings held together with horns
So cute, I don’t think I can eat goat ever again.
The next morning, we left Manang.
and headed to base camp at 14,700′. The last stop before Thorong La.
